Though retired from federal service, Billy O continues to sign autographs in person for free.

He is also pleased to honor requests from space buffs for personalized autographs through the mail, when the requestor provides for postage, packaging and handling and as long as the autograph is for a personal collection.  "Personalized" means that Billy O will sign the picture or item to a specific person.

Autographs may not, under any circumstance, be resold or auctioned on the internet (through ebay, for example).

Adventure Write no longer processes requests for non-personalized autographs.

We regret that we cannot return incomplete requests.  Adventure Write never sells or shares the personal information you send us with your autograph request.

We do not profit from sending autographs to fans.

Billy O reserves the right to refuse to sign anything he deems ridiculous or otherwise inappropriate.

Fees for Postage and Handling

Gone are the days when the US Government paid for Billy O to fulfill these requests (the postage, packaging, pens and office help in sorting and sending these out).

And the Post Office won't deliver your autograph unless we pay them.  Therefore, Adventure Write requires a fee of either $1 or $10 to fulfill your request.  Read on to determine your fee.

Fees:

-- $10 per package (limit 2 photos per request).  Adventure Write will send up to 2 photos (mailed to the same address), packaging in a rigid envelope and postage.

OR

-- $1 per item (limit 2 autographs per request) if you provide the item(s) to be autographed AND a self-addressed, stamped envelope with proper postage to return the item to you from Alaska (ZIP code 99511).  You can calculate the required postage on the USPS website.

You may send concealed cash at your own risk or a check or money order made out to "Adventure Write."

Instructions

To receive an autograph from Billy O, please follow the instructions below.

Autographs for Personal Collections:

Billy O prefers written requests sent through the good, old-fashioned US Postal Service and asks that you limit your request to one or two items per person.  To receive an autograph, send the following:
  • Your written request
  • The name of the person that Billy O should sign the item to
  • Your address
  • The appropriate fee (either $1 plus a SASE per autographed item or $10 -- See fees above.)
  • Oh, and if you're sending something for Billy O to sign, don't forget to put that in the envelope, too!
Please limit your request to 2 autographs.

Make your check or money order out to "Adventure Write" or send concealed cash at your own risk.

Billy O does not fulfill requests from memorabilia dealers or other businesses seeking to profit from his autograph.

A Note from Billy O...

I've always been flattered when someone asks for my autograph.  It still amazes me that my simple signature can boost someone's spirits, and I'm always happy to make somebody's day a little brighter.

I wonder how a stroke of the pen accomplishes all this.  Perhaps what means more than the ink on the paper is the time spent in giving a fan a little personal attention as a thank-you for their support.  Rest assured, I appreciate each and every one of you and will fulfill your request as quickly as possible.  Please be patient, though!  I may be out on an expedition for months at a time.
